I honestly haven't put this on my face yet (just the back of my hand), but it comes out all crumbly...kind of like cookie dough Vaseline...and you have to smooth it all out. Is that normal?

Please don't make the mistake I made and think this contains Mexoryl(ecamsule) like La Roche Posay's SPF 15...it does not. It's basically the same stuff as all the other highly irritating sunscreens (for some of us) you can get at any drug store.I have had more success with La Roche Posay SPF 15 with Mexoryl than any other sunscreen, because it's extremely gentle, non-whitening, and non-oily. It never caused a breakout. This SPF 50, while called Anthelios,is NOT Mexoryl sunscreen. My face tends to dislike non-physical sunscreens, but La Roche Posay has worked for me for a couple of years as long as I don't get it anywhere near my eyes. At first I thought this primer was going to solve my sunscreen + makeup + oiliness issues. Over a couple of weeks I started noticing my usually oily face was uncomfortably dry, and everything I put on it stung to the point where even water was bothering it. I was set to go to the dermatologist, and my husband said, "Have you switched sunscreens lately?" Duh, I thought. Since it was the only thing new in my products I stopped using it to see if my skin got better. After about 3 days, it was its normal, healthy self. This sunscreen has a very strong scent at first - pungent, like alcohol, so be careful without around your eyes! Also, if you have reactions to non-physical sunscreens see if there is a way to try this before you buy it.

At first this seemed great -- easy to apply, gives a smooth appearance, makes foundation last. Then in several days my skin began to break out -- something that never happens. Since using this product was the only change in routine, it must have been the cause. And when I stopped using it, my skin magically cleared up.

I use this for the sunscreen only, and I wouldn't use a primer otherwise. It's hard to find primers with high spf, especially with true broad-spectrum filters, and sunscreen lotions are usually greasy and break-out inducing. This isn't as wonderful as the Anthelios SPF 15 with Mexoryl, but for an SPF 50 it's by far the best I've found. It has a nice texture but it really needs to be blended, and it has to set well before anything is applied on top of it. It's not an oil-control product, but I don't think it adds to oiliness either. This works only with very light, sheer foundation if I want to look at all "natural". It does not work for me with powders and powder foundation. Overall this is worth it, and a staple.

This is a terrific primer -- the SPF will really be helpful in fighting aging over time. The primer does just what it says -- goes on easily, fills in fine lines and evens tone, and dramatically improves foundation application. But use it under foundation -- it's a little chalky alone.

Love it!! This product is awesome. It has great sun protection and leaves skin feeling soft and refreshed. It is the best sun protection and primer I have ever used. Would recommended it for sensitive and pre ageing skin

I am a budget buyer but I bent the rules to try this product because it has the ingredients avobenzone, oxybenzone that are highly recommended for sunscreen protection. Love how this product goes on so nice on my skin. I gave it a 4-star due to its pricing.

Unfortunely, this did absolutely nothing for me. Which is sad because I really like the line
